Discover how to jump higher

Do you want to discover how to jump higher? I am guessing that you do. Why else would you be looking for articles like this? I have always been impressed by athletes that seem to have wings when they jump. They stay in the air for days. I am sure you think so too. When I was playing in high school I had a teammate that seemed to stay in the air forever. Ever since then, I wanted to learn all I could about jumping higher and how to improve my vertical jump.

I am going to share with you 3 of the tips and tricks that I discovered over years of research. Some of these secrets may ruffle of few feathers, but they are based on proven science. It really doesn't matter whether you want to be the highest jumper on your team or just dominate your competition, you are going to discover some amazing ways to increase your vertical jump.

I am sure that in your investigation for advice and programs to help you discover how to jump higher, you have found a lot of contradictory information. The truth is that the basic concepts of jumping higher are really quite simple. For example, it should be no surprise that you must have strong legs if you want to jump high. Well, here are 3 secrets you should consider:

1. Recovery. Many athletes and trainers don't place enough importance on recovery after hard workouts. Any jump training program that is worth using is going to push your body to the limit. Without a sufficient recovery period, your muscles will not be ready to perform at their highest intensity during your game, match or the next workout session. That brings me to the next tip.

2. Intensity. Jumping is a high-intensity movement. You know that already. You won't be able to jump the 50 inch vertical that the best jumpers can unless you are able to produce enough power. Generating that kind of power requires intense exercise movements.

Your body will only adapt to the exact training that it receives. For example, if you train at low intensity you will adapt to low-intensity exercises. Jump training with high intensity, fast movements like those involved in jumping, will force your body to adapt to jumping.

For this reason, traditional squats are a waste of time for jumping higher. Now that isn't to say that you can't adapt squats to be a very effective exercise to jump higher. Any ideas how they can be adapted? Actually, when my clients want to learn how to jump higher, I start them with squats and lunges.

Did you figure out what they are missing? Of course you did! You must combine speed and intensity for the squats and lunges to be effective.

The same holds true for any exercise to improve vertical jump. So how do you know which exercises to use? That's where the next technique comes in to play.

3. Professional Mentoring. I have clients come to me to find out what exercises to use and how to make them most effective because they don't know how. You too will need to take advantage of a mentor to help you jump higher and reach your vertical jump goals. There are lots of decent jump training programs available online that will get you results. But I am sure that you want better than average results or you wouldn't be reading this. You want a jump manual program that will guarantee your success.

So don't forget that, recovery, intensity, and professional mentoring are 3 secrets that will help you to achieve maximum results in your effort to discover how to jump higher. Of course, there are more tips to finding the right jump training program, but that is outside of the scope of this article. Hopefully, I have been able to point you in the right direction.
